The health insurance I have is from HAAM, The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. It's a really amazing resource for our city, and I'm proud to be a member. Without their help, this ordeal would've easily cost me tens of thousands of dollars. The doctor had originally ordered for me to have ESWL, but it was discovered that my insurance would not pay for this procedure, and I would instead need to have the much more primitive (and expensive) uteroscopy which also required me to have a ureteral stent inside of me for about a week.

The doctor said that the machine for doing ESWL treatments was on the same floor as the room where I was having a bunch of stuff shoved in and out of my peehole.
